Postponed: CrossFit German Throwdown Finals | TBA | Arena Halle | Berlin

CrossFit German Throwdown 2020 is postponed due to coronavirus

The CrossFit German Throwdown 2020, that should’ve taken place in March in Berlin, is postponed due to the developments concerning Covid-19.

Due to the rapid spread of the new coronavirus (Covid-19) the responsible health authority of the district of Treptow-Köpenick in Berlin has ordered that the event has to be cancelled. German Throwdown had made it known that a decision on holding or cancelling the event would only be taken based on the recommendations or instructions of the relevant specialist authorities. Only they possess the necessary information and specialist knowledge in order to draw the right conclusions.

The German Throwdown, as only Sanctionals™ and biggest Event in the DACH-area, is extremely important to the community and so it comes with dissapointment, that the event cannot happen at the end of March. The priority is the health and safety of our athletes, spectators, volunteers, staff and partners.

Right at the beginning of the outbreak of the coronavirus in Germany we worked out a Plan B to be prepared for all eventualities. That is why we are happy to not have to cancel the event but that it will take place at a later point. We trust that the decision to postpone the event ensures that the German Throwdown continues to serve the community in the secure and safe conditions needed. Together with Arena Berlin we are looking for the best available dates before the CrossFit Games.

We understand that the postponement is not the ideal case, for all involved parties as well as for us. Though we are sure that we can count on the support of the community and our partners.

We will communicate further information in the coming days.

    Dear German throwdown,

It is sad to read, but necessary to do. However, how can we get out tickets refunded? I bought the tickets for my sister’s as a birthday gift and I know you said you will postpone it, but that doesn’t mean that we are able to join.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best,
    Amina

      Hello,

What happens with our tickets now?
Me and my 2 companions had to take 2 days off work to plan this trip..
We already booked our flight tickets and hotel months ago so we don’t have another choise then to go on this date , so we will just do a weekend berlin without the throwdown.
Its sadly not possible to come as a spectator at another date.
So i hope we can get our money back
      Sincerely,

      De Groote Tom

    Hi there,
Unfortunatley as I have booked flights I will need to ask for a refund to my ticket as I will not be able to travel again whenever the later date is.
Please let me know what info you need from me to do this.

Hi, could I request a refund for my tickets as I was meant to come to spectate whilst on holiday, so even though the event will be taking place at a later date this means I won’t be able to make it to the revised date
