Information concerning the Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Status 01.03.2020 – CrossFit German Throwdown 2020 is regularly scheduled for March 28 & 29
The safety and health of our athletes, visitors, staff and partners have the utmost priority for us. We are taking developments regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) very seriously and are coordinating closely with the relevant public health authorities in this matter. They have informed that at the moment there is no impact on sport events. We are following the recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute and the relevant authorities at federal and state level and are implementing corresponding instructions.
Without any current requirements by the responsible health authority we have taken precautionary measures to ensure the safety of all participants. Hand cleansers can be found at every entrance and in all the toilets. Frequently used objects such as handrails, door handles and bathrooms in particular are also being cleaned and disinfected at shorter intervals. Furthermore, all visitors and exhibitors are advised to observe the hygiene safety measures recommended by the Robert Koch Institute: regular and thorough washing of hands, as well as avoiding coughing, sneezing and shaking hands.
Even though the German Throwdown is one of the biggest CrossFit Events, it is a small event compared to international trade fairs with over 100.00 visitiors or football games with more than 60.000 spectators. We also do not expect visitors from regions at risk, particularly not from China.
At the current moment there are no requirements, restrictions or a ban of the responsible authorities and experts for the CrossFit German Throwdown 2020 on March 28 & 29 in Berlin. Therfore it would be wrong to all participants (athletes, spectators, volunteers and partners) to postpone or cancel the event prematurely.
We are following the current developments very closely and with our highest priority. If there will be any changes, we will inform about it as fast as possible through the known communication channels.
