As some of you have already recognized, 20.5 and the German Throwdown Classic are on the same weekend. Therefore we want to give athletes, as well as spectators the chance to do the Open.
This is the reason why we partnered up with a lot of gyms around Mainz. All these gyms are giving you the possibility to hit the Open workout in their facility.
Please make sure to contact the gym upfront as some of them work with sign up systems.
Below you see the gym as well as the opening times where they have slots for the Open workout
- CrossFit GenGym: Saturday 10-18:00 o’clock, Sunday 10-17:00 o’clock
- CrossFit Zollhafen: All day Friday and Saturday via Online Sign up
- CrossFit Wiesbaden: Friday 16:10/17:20/18:30 o’clock
- CrossFit 8674: Saturday and Sunday morning via Sign up
- CrossFit Central Wiesbaden: Saturday 18:00 and 19:15 o’clock
- CrossFit 50 Grad Nord: Friday 15:45-17:00 o’clock
We have planned that all Individual athletes will do 20.5 as the first workout of the competition. As long as the WOD is not going to be too long and/or complicated we will set you up to do it on the competition floor Saturday morning. Athletes who have to film their workout to submit their score can request a tripod for their smartphone. Just contact us via e-mail: info@germanthrowdown.de .The tripods will be handed out at the staging of the workout. All athletes received an email with further information!
The spectators will also get the chance to do the workout at the venue. The SuprFit Wod Area offers the possibility to do 20.5 on both days. But keep in mind, that the Wod Area is limited in space so you might encounter some waiting time. Please check the timetable on location to stay up to date with the timings. We will also offer the spectators the chance to do the Open Wod in the Main Arena in the lunch break on both days! But keep in mind – to do that you have to sign up beforehand. The Eventbrite event for the Spectator Open in the Main Arena is going to be online on Friday morning, 8th of November, and will be free of charge. First come, first serve!
Some other great news: we teamed up with WODPROOF. An application where you can easily film your qualifier workouts. During the whole weekend of the German Throwdown we will have a WODPROOF challenge. You can access this challenge through the App and with a password we will share next week. Under all participants we will give away a cool price from our partner. VERY IMPORTANT it doesn’t matter how good your score is, we will pick a person randomly under all participants the only rules, film and upload the video by using the WODPROOF app.
